Han Zheng Meets with Foreign Minister of Honduras Eduardo Enrique Reina

On March 27, 2023, Vice President Han Zheng met with Foreign Minister of Honduras Eduardo Enrique Reina in Beijing.

Han Zheng first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to President Xiomara Castro. Han Zheng said that President Xi Jinping highly values China-Honduras relations and welcomes President Castro’s visit to China at an early date, to jointly draw a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. The establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Honduras conforms to the prevailing trend of the times and serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples. China is ready to conduct exchanges on state governance with Honduras, and welcomes Honduras’ participation in Belt and Road cooperation, so as to turn the complementary advantages of the two countries into a driving force for cooperation across the board. China stands ready to work with Honduras to strengthen coordination and collaboration in international affairs, jointly safeguard the rights and interests of the vast developing countries, and join hands to build a human community with a shared future.

Reina conveyed President Castro’s sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, expressing that President Castro is ready to visit China upon invitation as soon as possible. By establishing diplomatic relations, Honduras and China have taken a historic and important step. Honduras will pursue the one-China principle, and stands ready to draw on China’s successful development experience and deepen bilateral practical cooperation in various fields to deliver more benefits to the two peoples.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang was present at the meeting.
