Chinese Ambassador Song Tao visited Bohol

Chinese Ambassador to RP, H.E. Song Tao, paid a visit to Bohol on Sept 25-27, 2008, accompanied by Mr. He Shijing, Chinese Consul General in Cebu, Commercial Counselor Wu Zhengping, and other officials from the embassy. During the visit, Ambassador Song held a meeting with Governor Aumentado, visit local Chinese community and tour around Bohol as well as LobocCity.

In his meeting with the Governor, Ambassador Song expressed the confidence that stronger provincial and municipal relations between PRC and RP will facilitate further promotion of the PRC-RP friendship and overall collaboration in various aspects. As the sister province of China’s Jiangxi, Bohol has abundant resources of tourism and agriculture as well as is treasured with all-year-long amicable weather. We are ready to explore mutually beneficial cooperation with Bohol in tourism and agriculture, so as to provide necessary assistance for local social and economic development as well as welfare of local residents. Governor Aumentado expressed warm welcome to Ambassador and his entourage, as well as to Chinese assistance for food self-sufficiency and tourism development.

When meeting representatives from local Chinese community, Ambassador Song applauded their devotion to Chinese language education and promotion of PRC-RP friendship, expected them to make greater contribution in provincial economic cooperation and the cause of motherland reunification. The representatives of local Chinese community felt being honored by Ambassador’s visit to Bohol, are proud of the success of China in hosting the Beijing Olympic Games, and expressed their willingness to continue playing active role to further promote the PRC-RP friendship and provincial cooperation.
