On December 16, 2011, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended the reception celebrating the founding of ASEAN-China Center (ACC) in Beijing Kerry Center Hotel and delivered a speech.

Yang stressed the importance of developing China-ASEAN strategic partnership and extended congratulations on the founding of the ACC. He hopes the ACC plays a part of promoting the good-neighborliness and mutual trust, boosting the pragmatic cooperation and strengthening the friendship between China and ASEAN and makes active contributions to the in-depth development of the bilateral relations.

Secretary-General of ASEAN Surin Pitsuwan also attended the reception. He expressed appreciation to the Chinese government for attaching importance to developing relations with ASEAN and said that ASEAN member countries will actively support the role of the ACC as the cooperation platform between ASEAN and China.

The ACC is an inter-governmental organization jointly founded by China and ASEAN's ten member countries. Its purpose is to provide one-stop service for China-ASEAN cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, culture, education and tourism.
