April 13, Ambassador Jing Quan met with Philippine Secretary of Justice Frederick Vida. The two sides held an in-depth exchange of views on further strengthening bilateral law enforcement and judicial cooperation.

Ambassador Jing pointed out that since 2023, China and the Philippines have achieved remarkable results in joint efforts to combat transnational crime. Through the concerted efforts of both sides, 102 major fugitives have been captured, and a total of 2,461 suspects involved in gambling and fraud-related crimes have been repatriated. Notably, in December 2025, Shi Chunfang, a major fugitive suspected of orchestrating multiple kidnapping and murder cases in the Philippines, was apprehended and repatriated to China, delivering a powerful blow to the audacity of cross-border criminals. Since the beginning of this year, cooperation between the two sides has led to the capture of nine key fugitives and the repatriation of 46 suspects. China is ready to further enhance law enforcement cooperation with the Philippines, make every effort to combat all types of criminal activities, effectively safeguard the safety and property of citizens of both countries, and jointly maintain normal order in people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as economic and trade interactions between China and the Philippines.
